Peter Vetter studied design in Zurich and Milan. His first employment experience was with Gérard Miedinger, Josef Müller-Brockmann and Tomás Maldonado. During his career he has worked in Italy, Germany, Japan and the USA for high-profile, mainly international clients. He created his own design studio in Italy (Bit S.r.l., later BBV), and then joined Zintzmeyer und Lux AG (now Interbrand) as a partner and creative director, then Vignelli Associates in New York as executive vice-president. He teaches (BA, MA) and is director of studies for visual communication in the design department at Zurich University of the Arts and at SUPSI in Lugano , and a guest lecturer at several universities in Switzerland and abroad, including SUPSI/DACD in Lugano, Basel, Bern, Geneva and the IFZ in Zug. He has been president of Design Network Switzerland, is a founder-member and vice-president of the Swiss Graphic Design Foundation, president of the jury for the assessment of business reports, along with several other national and international awards juries.
