Thorsten Kael was born in 1974 and stud­ied at the Berlin Uni­ver­si­ty of the Arts, the Uni­ver­si­tat Autòno­ma in Barcelona and the Uni­ver­si­ty of Tech­nol­o­gy in Syd­ney. He has been dan pearl­man Markenarchitektur’s strate­gic direc­tor for more than eight years; his prin­ci­ple focus is brand devel­op­ment and posi­tion­ing. He was respon­si­ble for devel­op­ing dan pearlman’s strat­e­gy unit, and went on to cre­ate links between the var­i­ous dis­ci­plines of strat­e­gy, com­mu­ni­ca­tion, archi­tec­ture and design. He has led prize-win­ning projects for the Berlin-based agency that include the Lufthansa Brand Acad­e­my, the BMW Group’s world­wide brand acad­e­my net­work and inter­nal brand­ing tools for Mer­cedes Benz – always work­ing close­ly with the client.
