Thorsten Kael was born in 1974 and studied at the Berlin University of the Arts, the Universitat Autónoma in Barcelona and the University of Technology in Sydney. He has been dan pearlman Markenarchitektur’s strategic director for more than eight years; his principle focus is brand development and positioning. He was responsible for developing dan pearlman’s strategy unit, and went on to create links between the various disciplines of strategy, communication, architecture and design. He has led prize-winning projects for the Berlin-based agency that include the Lufthansa Brand Academy, the BMW Group’s worldwide brand academy network and internal branding tools for Mercedes Benz – always working closely with the client.
